An Arras bleu de roi plate with lobed gilt rim, the border decorated in gilt with birds and foliage, the centre with heart shaped panel decorated in gilt, illustrated with silhouettes with features, including weaponry and hairstyles, typical of European stereotypes of Indigenous people of the Americas. Maker's mark - AR over I, underglaze blue. 1770 - 1790 (circa).
