Summary
One of a pair of wine coolers, or seaux a bouteilles, from the grand Service de Versailles with shell moulded handles, each painted at the front and back with mythological subjects within circular panels reserved on a bleu de roi ground enriched with gilding. Maker's mark - interlaced L's, date letter for 1791, date letter for 1792, painter's mark for Dodin, gilder's mark for Le Guay in gilt.
