Summary
Chelsea-Derby group of a standing youth piping to a sleeping shepherdess, who leans her head against a fountain surmounted by an urn, with water spouting from the mouth of the dolphin. He wears a black hat with ribbon and a rosette on the brim, a white coat edged with turquoise and lined in pink, a white waistcoat with turquoise ribbons and edged in gold, pale yellow breeches and black ankle boots. She wears a turquoise bodice tied with pink ribbon, a flowered apron on a pink ground lined with turquoise and a skirt decorated with flower sprigs within diamond shaped panels edged in gold; a lamb lies at her feet and her hat, filled with flowers, rests at her left side. 1775 (circa)
