Summary
Pair of Chelsea Fable candlesticks, i) with a goat in a well looking up at a fox; ii) with a wolf looking down at a fox in a well. The groups with a pulley attached on a flowering may-tree background. The nozzle supported by the flowering may tree, elaborate gilt pierced rococo base. Maker's mark - gold anchor mark. 1768 (circa).
