Summary
Pair of Chelsea fable candlesticks, i) with the dog and the fox at the base and a cat in the may tree behind; ii) with the fox and the vixen, background of flowers and fruiting vine; both with rocaille bases, picked out in gilding and butterflies or insects painted on the label at the front. Maker's mark - gold anchor mark. 1765 (circa).
