Summary
Two Chelsea groups representing the Labours of Hercules; a) wielding his club at the Hydra while Iolaus burns the serpent's heads with a red-hot brand. In the background is a tree covered with the golden apples of Hesperides; b) Hercules seated spinning while Omphale holds his club, Cupid reclining beside them, a flowering tree in the background. On high scoll bases. Maker's mark - gold anchor mark. 1765 (circa).
