Summary
Marble, probably Thalia, 19th century. Marble statue probably depicting Thalia, one of six statues of muses installed atop the balustrade on the roof of the Orangery at Belton House (NT 438110.1–NT 438110.6). Thalia, the muse of comedy, wears a wreath of ivy and appears to have once held an object, presumably a comic mask, in her proper left hand.
Full description
