Summary
A white painted and parcel gilt canopy bedstead, English, early 19th century. The canopy of shaped and arched outline with foliate cresting. The hangings of green and gold striped silk with tasselled fringed and braided pelmet. The bed with scrolled head and foot end and panelled frame upholstered en-suite.

Purchased with a grant from the National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF) from Edward John Peregrine Cust, 7th Baron Brownlow (b.1936) in 1984.
