Summary
A white-painted and giltwood canopy bedstead, English, early 19th century. The canopy with scrolled and moulded cornice and double lambrequin pelmet hung with elaborate tassels. The hangings of contempory Chinese vase chintz with braided borders. The bed with padded head and foot end upholstered in the same chintz.

Purchased with a grant from the National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF) from Edward John Peregrine Cust, 7th Baron Brownlow (b.1936) in 1984.
