Summary
Plaster sculpture, John Locke (1632 – 1704) by Robert Shout (c.1760 - London 1843). Bust of Locke. Plaster cast turned half to his right with flowing hair, open-necked shirt and loose fitting jacket crossed over in front. On circular socle with narrow decorated plinth above. Inscribed on the back 'R SHOUT HOLBORN'. Copy of the bust by Peter Scheemakers II (1691-1781) in The Long Room, Trinity College, Dublin, acquired 1743.
