Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Edward George Earle Lytton (formerly Lytton-Bulwer), 1st Baron Lytton (1803-1873), after Daniel Maclise RA (Cork 1806 – London 1870). A full-length portrait, standing, left elbow on mantelpiece, left hand supporting head, right hand on hip. Wearing black velvet suit. Standing in front of red couch with four books at its foot. Chimney piece has gothic arch, in front of which is an ornate fender with a sculpture of a bird. Gilt frame, concave with acanthus leaf corners and bayleaf edge.
