Summary
George III halfpenny, dated 1773. Obverse has head of king facing right, depicted in dress of a Roman emperor and inscribed 'Georgivs III Rex'. Reverse with a seated Britannia facing left, holding spear in left hand and inscribed 'Britannia/ 1773'. In envelope with the following written on it 'Hughenden Manor House./ 1/2 penny of George III/ picked up between boards/ when laying new floor to bed/ room called the Bride Chamber./ 1893./ Coningsby Disraeli MP.'
