Summary
Wooden box with silver mounts carved with Celtic interlace pattern on lid and sides, back panel in a cross design, the silver clasp with interlace and leopard mask design. Silver coronet on cushion on top. Front panel carved with roses, thistles, shamrocks, oak leaves and interlace design. Top of silver clasp inscribed 'Presented/ By the Manufacturers/ Mr. Master Hodgson and Co./ Dublin' beneath monogram B and coronet and the words 'Lothair Perfume' on ribbon design. Lined in purple silk and velvet in two compartments containing pair of cut glass decanters with stoppers cut with octagonal pattern. Plaque inside inscribed 'Waterhouse and Co. Jewellers and Silversmiths Dublin'. Two of the silver mounts from the front of the box have come off (one is inside the box, the other is missing). Two of the diagonal mounts on lid are lifting. Box has also lost both handles and three of the four handle mounts (all of which are inside box). One of the internal hinges missing.
