Summary
Monument to Robert Shirley Lord Tamworth made of alabaster and marble. The monument has an effigy of Robert Shirley dressed in early 18th century dress lying on his side. The monument has a shield containing the Shirley coat of arms with a stag and hound. The monument is located in the Sanctuary of the Holy Trinity Chapel at Staunton Harold, Leicestershire.
Provenance
The Chapel at Staunton Harold was presented to the National Trust by the 12th Earl Ferrers in 1954. A partial endowment was given by the Dulverton Trust, and the building was restored by public subscription and with a munificent grant from the Pilgrim Trust and grants from the Historic Churches Preservation Trust and the Incorporated Church Building Society.
