Summary
A large jointed oak chest with moulded borders, pierced and gilded hinges on the inside and a panelled lid with a central parquetry inlay with a key, supported on turned bun feet.(circa 1680) The panels of the chest have similar parquetry inlaid panels within moulded borders which are carved with foliate pendant swags at the centre and front corners. At each end there are large bail handles. At one end of the interior of the box there is a hinged lid and faux drawer fronts with ring handles.
