Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Doris Allen, Lady Vernon (1883-1962) by The Hon. John Collier (London 1850 – Hampstead 1934), signed. An almost full-length portrait of the wife of Sir George Vernon, 2nd Bt as a young woman, turned to the left, and gazing to the left, dark hair, wearing a pale mauve dress and a large grey and hat holding in her right hand a bunch of delphiniums which lie in the crook of her left arm. She stands in a garden, with grass and trees, with a glimpse of the sky on the right.
