Summary
Textile Box 4. One of two bed valances of highly glazed cotton european chintz, with floral and scroll design in shades of brown, rose and blue on cream ground. Edges bound in pink fabric, the longer of the two has a white glazed sleeve for the hanging rod, the other has a chintz sleeve. Late 19 th Century rococo design. BL54F

Part of the Lothian Collection. The Hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1940 by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
