Summary
Textile Box 4. An unmatched pair of curtains. Block and roller printed chintz. Glazed cotton with cartouche and floral design on white ground, stained to beige. Lined. Lining header tape with 11 stitched rings. Bound edges. Very badly and irregularly patched in the same material. Very worn and rotted. See also T/233,433,548 and 666. Textile Box 4. A pair of pelmets. Block and roller printed chintz. Glazed cotton, floral designs within cartouches with scrolls between, white ground, stained to beige. Lined in plain cream cotton. Cotton braid along the bottom edge. Beige webbing tape across the top, box pleats. A narrow header tape, attached with tacks- now removed. See also T/233,548,584 and 666. Textile Box 4. A single curtain, NON glazed. Block and roller printed chintz. Cotton with a floral design within maroon cartouches with smaller floral designs either side. White ground, stained to beige. A beige cotton lining. Bound on three edges with pink binding tape. Brass rings sewn into the top seam and gatghered at rings. Badly worn along the bottom edge. ? See also T/233,433,584 and 666. Textile Box 4. A pelmet or valance. Brown, blue and pink floral design in brown cartouches. A red braid border. Lined. Part of the design has been removed. See also T/233,433,548 and 584. Textile Box 4. Two bed valances of highly glazed cotton european chintz, with floral and scroll design in shades of brown, rose and blue on cream ground. Edges bound in pink fabric, the longer of the two has a white glazed sleeve for the hanging rod, the other has a chintz sleeve. Late 19th century rococo design.

Part of the Lothian Collection. The Hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1940 by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
