Summary
A decanter, thick glass, sloping-shouldered with a slight bluish tinge that might indicate an Irish origin. The base has a polished bottom. The stopper is a flattened pear-shape with facetted edges. Around the neck on a chain is a silver-plated label inscribed 'SHERRY'. English or Irish, late 18th - early 19th Century. Intact.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1940 by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
