Summary
An octagonal brass-bound, mahogany, enclosed wine cooler, English, circa 1770. With a hinged lid enclosing nine lead-lined divisions and the body with brass carrying handles on a base with four, square section, tapered legs. Inscribed in ink on the underside of the lid: 'A L J'.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
