Summary
A joined oak armchair, English, possibly West Country mid 17th century. The carved top rail surmounted by a semi circular flower head motif flanked by scrolled brackets, the back carved with a central diamond within an arcaded design. with carved and shaped scrolled arms and plank seat on turned baluster legs tied by stretchers. Later carved decoration to the arms and later feet additions.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940)
