Summary
Print, engraving, Trajan's Column, Rome, by Giovanni Battista Piranesi (Mogliano 1720 – Rome 1778). Column by a domed church, steps at right, buildings in background, figures to left of column. Within original border, with two reproduction ribbon bows. From a collection of 52 prints, C18, affixed around the walls of the Print Room. The 2nd Earl's mausoleum in the park was inspired by this Roman tomb.
