Summary
Print, engraving, The Arch of Titus, Rome, by Giovanni Battista Piranesi (Mogliano 1720 – Rome 1778). Monumental arch at right with buildings behind towards far right. Large wooden gateway in centre. Two trees in foreground, many figures. Inscription 'Veduta dell'Arco di Tito', 'Presso a l'autore a Strada Felipe aricino alla Trinita dal Monti. A parti due e mezzo', 'Gio Batta pingnesi anabitatta ...'. Within original border, with two reproduction ribbon bows. From a collection of 52 prints, C18, affixed around the walls of the Print Room.
