Summary
Print, treacle print. Sir William Henry Kerr, 4th Marquess of Lothian (c.1710-1775) on horseback after Francesco Giuseppe Casanova (London 1727 – Vienna 1803). The 'Marquess of Lothian' wearing gold-braided blue tunic, red breeches, black boots. Riding a grey horse and leading 2 armed riders. Black and gilt frame. Based on an engraving of a Cossack after Francesco Casanova. Early pearwood frame with gilt.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
