Summary
Match holder wall plaque. Martin Bros, London, June 1875. A modelled dragon consuming its own tail applied to a round plaque with its folded back wings forming a holder for matches. The plaque is pierced with a hole for hanging on the wall. Salt-glazed stoneware, tinted cobalt and iron oxide glazes. Incised on the reverse 'D3' above ‘R. W. Martin / London / 6[June]. [18]75’.
