Summary
Cup. Sevres, 1788. Soft-paste porcelain. Painted in blue enamels with a continuous classical landscape on a pale yellow ground. Base with interlaced 'L's above the painters mark for Andre-Vincent Vieillard (fl.1752-90) and the date letters 'KK'. Brown line and blue dot border around rim and base. Top border of alternating 'S's and brown foliage garlands. Gilt line around top. Twisted handle painted gilt on white.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
