Summary
Teapot. Part of a tea service by Pierre and Jean Verneuilh of Bordeaux, c.1781-7. Hard-paste porcelain. Cylindrical shape with 2 panels of multi-coloured flowers, gilt rope borders top and bottom, gilt dots and stars, gilt lines to rim and base, gilt foliage borders around shoulder and neck, on white ground Marked with 'VV' in gilt.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
