Summary
Charles I silver gilt steeple cup with conventional floral design and a baluster stem with triple female busts on a circular spreading foot, the cover surmounted with a female figure on a steeple. Marked on the rim of the cup with maker’s mark BF with three pellets above and a trefoil below in a plain shield, probably for Benjamin Francis, leopard’s head crowned for London, lion passant for sterling standard and date letter ‘s’ for 1635.

Accepted by HM Government in lieu of inheritance tax and allocated to the National Trust for display at Antony, 1995.
