Full description
Matchlock long-gun (Toradar) of characteristic form, India, late 18the century. Round iron Damascus twist barrel with integral flash-pan and with foresight and rear sight. Retained to the stock by 4 iron bands. Barrel length: 122cm. Calibre 16mm. Red wooden full stock of heavy form, the straight butt of pentagonal section. Carved to the rear of the breech and inlayed with bone panels. Of typical Indian construction, concealed within the wooden stock, with iron match holder and blade trigger. Overall length: 165cm
