Summary
Ceramic, Staffordshire, Roualeyn George Gordon-Cumming (1820-1866), Staffordshire Pottery. Full-length Staffordshire figure of Roualeyn George Gordon-Cumming, standing upon the back of a dead lion, in plumed bonnet, shirt and short kilt over knickerbockers, with a plaid round him and draped over his left shoulder. Holds up a gun with his right hand on the stock and left on the barrel.
Provenance
part of collection built up by Thomas Balston (d.1967). He wrote about the collection in Staffordshire Portrait Figures of the Victorian Age, 1958.
