Summary
Ceramic, Staffordshire, Roualeyn George Gordon-Cumming (1820-1866), Staffordshire Pottery. Ful-length Staffordshire figure of Roualeyn George Gordon-Cumming, standing, his left foot raised upon a rock, in plumed bonnet, short jacket, kilt and a scarf over both shoulders. Right hand holds up a hind paw of a lion whose head is on the ground; left holds the hilt of his sword.
Provenance
part of collection built up by Thomas Balston (d.1967). He wrote about the collection in Staffordshire Portrait Figures of the Victorian Age, 1958.
