Summary

Ceramic, Staffordshire, William Shakespeare's House, Stratford-upon-Avon, Staffordshire Pottery. A Staffordshire model of William Shakespeare's House, a two-storied cottage, with one door and three windows, a thatched roof and two chimney stacks. Represents the birthplace at Stratford-on-Avon as it was before restorations of 1857-8.

Provenance

part of collection built up by Thomas Balston (d.1967). He wrote about the collection in Staffordshire Portrait Figures of the Victorian Age, 1958.
