Summary
Ceramic, Staffordshire, Field Marshall Sir Colin Campbell, Baron Clyde of Clydesdale (1792-1863), Staffordshire Pottery. Dull-length Staffordshire figure of General Sir Colin Campbell, standing, bare-headed, in jacket with eqaulets and trousers, a long scarf over his right shoulder. He leans to the right against a gun. Sword hangs from his right hand against a pile of shells. Left hand holds a Scotch bonnet to his head.
Provenance
part of collection built up by Thomas Balston (d.1967). He wrote about the collection in Staffordshire Portrait Figures of the Victorian Age, 1958.
