Summary
Ceramic, Staffordshire, A Sailor of the Crimean with his Son, Staffordshire Pottery. Two full-length Staffordshire figures, non-portrait of a sailor, standing, in a straw hat, with a sailing boat on his left shoulder, his right hand on the bare head of a small boy, also in naval dress who stands on the left.
Provenance
part of collection built up by Thomas Balston (d.1967). He wrote about the collection in Staffordshire Portrait Figures of the Victorian Age, 1958.
