Summary

Ceramic, Staffordshire, King Victor Emmanuel II, King of Sardinia, later King of Italy (1820-1878) on Horseback, Staffordsire Pottery. Full-length Staffordshire figure of the King of Sardinia on a horse, facing left. In plumed cocked hat and uniform, with cloak hanging over his right arm, his left hand on the back of the saddle-cloth.

Provenance

part of collection built up by Thomas Balston (d.1967). He wrote about the collection in Staffordshire Portrait Figures of the Victorian Age, 1958.
