Summary
Ceramic, Staffordshire, Jenny Jones, Staffordshire Pottery. Ful-length Staffordshire figure of Jenny Jones, standing, in a steeple hat over a frilled bonnet, shawl over both shoulders, and apron (ffedod) over two underskirts (pais). A can hangs from her right forearm, and both hands hold a piece of knitting, two needles, and a ball of wool over her waist. A low fence against her left leg.
Provenance
part of collection built up by Thomas Balston (d.1967). He wrote about the collection in Staffordshire Portrait Figures of the Victorian Age, 1958.
