Summary
Ceramic, Staffordshire, The Death of Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson (1758-1805) , Staffordshire Pottery. Full-length Staffordshire figures of Lord Nelson, in a cocked hat, worn athwartships, seated on the ground, an officer (right) kneeling, bare-headed, right hand on Nelson's shoulder, left holding Nelson's left hand; a civilian (left), bare-headed, holding a mug towards Nelson. The ends of two lanyards, with rings, over-hang the base.

part of collection built up by Thomas Balston (d.1967). He wrote about the collection in Staffordshire Portrait Figures of the Victorian Age, 1958.
