Full-length Staffordshire figure of John Philip Kemble as Hamlet, standing, in round hat with one plume, short trunks and hose, a cloak hangs behind him. Left hand holds a skull and right hand points to it.

Provenance

part of collection built up by Thomas Balston (d.1967). He wrote about the collection in Staffordshire Portrait Figures of the Victorian Age, 1958.
