Summary

Ceramic, Staffordshire, Prince Albert, Prince Consort (1819-1861), Staffordshire Pottery. Full-length Staffordshire figure of Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, standing, bare-headed in Garter robes. Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (1819-61) married Queen Victoria in 1840 and was created Prince Consort in 1857.

Provenance

part of collection built up by Thomas Balston (d.1967). He wrote about the collection in Staffordshire Portrait Figures of the Victorian Age, 1958.
