Summary
An eight day striking longcase clock by Francis Pile of Honiton. In oak, crossbanded with mahogany dark and light chequered stringing. Two train, five pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack striking. Brass breakarch dial with scallop shell spandrels and moon phase, and tidal dial with readings for Bristol key, Portsmouth and London Bridge, in arch. Silvered chapter ring with inset silvered nameplate, and square calendar aperture in matted dial centre. Steel hands. Arch top hood with plain columns and glazed sides. Plain trunk door with mahogany inlay, on plinth with base and feet.
