Ironwork was painted black with evidence for gold paint to the anthemions to the gate piers and the inside faces of the ears to the dog bar finials. The gate piers are decorated at the intersection of the diamond bars with cast lead rosettes. The outer faces of the rosettes were finished with a gold paint.
