Summary
Wrought iron gates to the lower Arboretum decorated with arrow head finials to main palings and dog bars. Pier supports with lozenge shaped lattice surmounted by anthemion finials. Ironwork was painted black with evidence for gold paint to the anthemions to the gate piers and the inside faces of the ears to the dog bar finials. The gate piers are decorated at the intersection of the diamond bars with cast lead rosettes. The outer faces of the rosettes were finished with a gold paint.
