Summary
Watercolour on paper, by Lucius Rossi (1846-1913). A scene showing two seated females in 18th century dress in front of a screen, holding an open book. In front of them is a table on which appears to be a skull, two ink bottles with quills, and some papers. A man in 18th century black dress wearing a wig, is standing behind the table pointing with his right index finger to the skull. On the wall behind is a map of Italy. The scene appears to be set in an outdoor loggia with two steps and stone pillars either side. Underneath the second step it reads: L. Rossi.
