Some leaves transposed" [i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Ellys], continued "Pamphlets in folio [underlined]" [i.e. title note for anonymous works entered by Mitchell in his catalogue of Elly's library]. Seventeenth-century price inscribed at head of front pastedown. Contents list in seventeenth-century secretary hand on front endleaves. Seventeenth-century numbers "2" and "3" inscribed on title pages of 'His most gracious speech' and 'The speeches of Sir Edward Turner', respectively. Binding: late seventeenth-century sprinkled calf over boards (worn), double blind fillet frame with double blind rule parallel to spine; single gilt rule along board edges; five raised bands, gilt title on leather label; red sprinkled edges.
