[i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Ellys], continued with collation note "Values of Merchadises [underlined], wrong paged. Catalogued by Mitchell as 3 vol. set containing Scobell's 'A Collection of several Acts of Parliament' 1653, and 2 copies of 'The humble petition and advice presented unto His Highness the Lord Protector' 1657, with Mitchell's designated vol. numbers inscribed beside his catalogue code in each volume. Inscriptions on front pastedown: [1] "Murry Ltᵈ | June yᵉ 20th: 1705"; [2] price in early eighteenth-century hand "-6-6" [stuck through]. Seventeenth- or eighteenth-century inscriptions at head of title page: [1] "J.B."; [2] price "2-6". Stamp of Samuel Turner either side of printer's device on title page: 'SAMVEL TVRNER' surrounding three crowns. Bookplate of Dr John Harborough on first front endleaf verso [i.e. John Harborough. Adm. Fell.-Com. at Emmanuel, July 2, 1679. Of Norfolk. M.D. 1683. London, M.D (cf. Alumni cantabrigienses)]: two scallop shells and a crescent above chevron gules, single scallop shell below; knight's helmet at helm surrounded by mantling; lion at crest (Franks *296). Binding: Seventeenth-century full calf over boards, double blind ruled frame with double blind rule parallel to spine; blind dotted roll along board edges; five raised bands, spine compartments double blind ruled, remains of gilt spine title; sewn on five cord supports; red sprinkled leaf edges. Upper board loose.
