Provenance: eighteenth-century Chippendale armorial bookplate with putto: Sr. Henry Harpur. Bart [i.e. Sir Henry (Harry) Harpur, 6th Baronet, 1739-1789]. Several varieties of herb have corresponding specimens pressed in: see entries for burnet, dittany, and tobacco. Binding: eighteenth-century reverse calf; double gilt fillet border; on six raised bands; wants spine label. (Leather scuffed and pocked.)
