Provenance: eighteenth-century mantle armorial bookplate: "Sr. Henry Harpur Bart" [i.e. Sir Henry Harpur, 5th Baronet, (1708-1748)]. Binding: eighteenth-century calf, blind panel stamp with corner pieces; sewn on three raised cords (with two additional false raised bands). Blind-tooled board edges. Gilt-tooled on spine, vol. numbers direct in gilt on spine, spine label wanting. lettered "Shakespear's works". Text-block edges sprinkled red.
