Free-thinking, prov'd atheism: or, Freedom of thought, natural; if rightly stated, shewing the dangerous consequences of its corruption.. An essay demonstrating, that the Christian religion stands upon so sure a foundation, that no enquiry can shake it; but the strictest examination will both strengthen and support it. By a gentleman. Written for the instruction of a particular friend. Wherein, among several others, are the following useful enquiries. viz. I. Concerning the various readings of some texts of Scripture; and of the present translation of the Bible. II. The points of natural and reveal'd religion truly stated: and of moral duties, as oppos'd to religious mysteries. III. A critical examination of the writings of the late Dr. Clarke, Anthony Collins, Esq.; and Mr. Whiston. Fully proving, that the modern novelties, advanced by them, are nothing more than exploded heresies reviv'd.
