Provenance: Unidentified armorial bookplate on front pastedown comprising two oval shields: on left, flaunches with central estoily in sable and ermine supported by collared reindeer rampant reguardant; on right, saltire with five scallops in sable supported by collared greyhound rampant reguardant; English earl's coronet helm. Binding: eighteenth-century plain and sprinkled calf over boards, blind tooled to a Cambridge panel design with frame containing crowns and gilt central arms of George II, stamped "GR"; blind roll pattern on board edges; five raised bands; gilt tooled spine with gilt title on leather label; two-colour endbands; pastedown with guard extension and attachment; red sprinkled edges.
