In ink on front pastedown and front flyleaf recto, a record of a lending book club in the vicinity of Dudmaston and Bridgnorth, Shropshire, with a list of 27 names (incl. Lady Glynne, William Whitmore etc.), and borrowing dates. In ink on half-title, "J. H. Whitmore" [i.e. John Henry Whitmore-Jones (1795-1853)]. Binding: late eighteenth-century full calf; five raised bands with gilt rules; volume number in gilt on spine.
