[i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Ellys], with Mitchell's manuscript code at foot of leaf: "α½" [i.e. alpha½ = Greek number 1½]. Eighteenth-century manuscript letters in various hands: [1] on front endleaf: "A" (found in other books at Blickling but uncertain of provenance); [2] on front pastedown: "e.g."; [3] on rear endleaf: "Ea". Binding: eighteenth-century full sprinkled calf with double gilt fillet and single blind pattern border. Blind pattern along board edges. Five raised bands edged with double gilt lines; remains of gilt title on leather label. Wants head endband. Three supports laced in; pastedown with guard and endleaf at both ends. Red-brown silk marker.
